The safety of forklift lithium batteries is very noteworthy, so how are the safety characteristics of forklift lithium batteries achieved?
(1) The diaphragm automatically shuts off protection after exceeding a certain temperature
When the temperature of the battery reaches a certain value, the PE film holes on both sides of the composite film close, the internal resistance of the battery increases, and the internal temperature of the battery slows down. When the temperature of the battery reaches the limit value, the PP film holes close, the internal circuit of the battery is broken, and the battery no longer heats up, ensuring the safety of the battery.
(2) Adding additives to the electrolyte
When the battery is overcharged and the battery voltage is higher than 4.2V, the electrolyte additive aggregates with other substances in the electrolyte, causing a significant increase in the internal resistance of the battery. A large area of open circuit is formed inside the battery, and the battery no longer heats up.
(3) Various environmental abuse tests
Conduct various abuse tests, such as external short circuit, overcharging, puncture, flat impact, incineration, etc., to examine the safety performance of the battery. Simultaneously conduct temperature shock tests and mechanical performance tests such as vibration, drop, and impact on the battery.
(4) Battery cap composite structure
The battery cover adopts a scratch explosion-proof structure. When the battery is heated up, some of the gas generated during the activation process inside the battery expands, increasing the internal pressure of the battery. The pressure reaches a certain degree, and the scratch cracks and deflates.
